In an age of rapid technological evolution and AI-powered boom, the world needs more than just consumers of innovation – it needs creators, thinkers, and problem-solvers. This is where STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics ) Education comes into play, nurturing young minds ready to face the future. The traditional education system delivers Science, Technology, and Mathematics as separate subjects that cover mostly theoretical aspects. However, the current and future job market needs innovators who could use their knowledge in real-life problem-solving to present creative solutions.
The STEM Skills Certificate Program offered through Institute of STEM Education by ANKA Technologies, is a curriculum designed to inspire curiosity and cultivate essential skills in children as young as 6 years. Spanning through 5 progressive levels for 28 months, the program immerses students in engaging topics such as basic electronics, coding with Scratch and Code.org, Canva design, mathematics, and science experiments. This structured core curriculum delivering learning experiences across core STEM domains is designed not just to teach but to ignite a passion for lifelong learning.

Our curriculum is unique because it is well-structured, where each level builds on the previous, ensuring that students move from foundational knowledge to advanced problem-solving and creativity. The coding journey starts from Scratch Jr. and progresses to Code.org courses, algorithm design, game development, and advanced programming techniques. Students learn to create interactive animations and games, transforming themselves from players to creators. Creativity is given equal emphasis through our structured lessons on designing with Canva. From basic layouts to professional-level infographics and social media content, students learn to communicate ideas effectively—a vital skill in today’s digital world.
Being the pioneers in Introducing Sri Lanka’s first Humanoid Robot for coding education has included electronics and robotics in our STEM curriculum. Students begin by building simple LED circuits and move on to sophisticated projects involving sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers like the Brainbox and Micro. The program gradually introduces them to robotics and logic design—key skills for future engineers. It will be a wonderful experience for the students to interact with our own Humanoid Robots – Pepper and NAO.
With our STEM curriculum, Science and Mathematics will be explored on a whole new level. Science exploration begins from sinking-and-floating experiments to exploring microscopic life; the curriculum helps learners understand the scientific method and marvel at the natural world. As they progress, students explore human biology, ecosystems, the solar system, and even the fundamentals of genetics and artificial intelligence. In mathematics, foundational numeracy blends seamlessly with real-world applications. STEM Skills Certificate Program allows students to explore place value, fractions, shapes, multiplication, division, time, and data handling through interactive, playful methods, ensuring deep conceptual understanding.
Our program is structured for success – Level 1 spans for 4 months, and the duration for Levels 2 to 5 would be 6 months each. Four intensive sessions per month ensure consistency, discipline, and deep learning. Each level of the program culminates in a STEM.org™ Endorsed Certificate, a prestigious recognition from the USA-based STEM.org Educational Research™. This validation gives students both motivation and global credibility for their achievements.
