Anka Technologies and Hallam City Campus Sign Landmark MOU to Advance STEM, Robotics, and AI Education in Puttalam

In a significant step toward enhancing educational opportunities in Sri Lanka’s North Western Province, Anka Technologies and Hallam City Campus have officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a long-term strategic partnership. The agreement, signed on August 6, 2025, at Anka Technologies’ facility in Kandy, aims to bring cutting-edge STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), robotics, and AI programs to students in Puttalam, fostering innovation and skill development among the youth.

This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for both institutions, combining Anka Technologies’ expertise in technology-driven education with Hallam City Campus’s commitment to accessible higher learning.

Founded in 2023, Anka Technologies has quickly established itself as a leader in Sri Lanka’s STEM landscape. As the exclusive STEM.org Certified™ Educational Instructor partner of STEM.org USA, the company offers hands-on programs through its divisions: the Institute of STEM Education, School of Computing, and Anka Robots. These initiatives include immersive camps, teacher certifications, and robotics labs equipped with premium tools from global partners like RobotLab and Hiwonder, all designed to spark curiosity and prepare students for the digital future.

Hallam City Campus, established in 2014 in Puttalam, has been a cornerstone of higher education in the region, with extensive experience in providing higher education courses and guidance to empower young minds. With this partnership, Hallam City Campus will now also be catering to and enhancing the education of children in the region through specialized STEM, robotics, and AI programs, blending academic rigor with practical skills to help students navigate the demands of the modern world.

The MOU signing ceremony was a testament to the shared vision of both organizations. Representing Hallam City Campus, Mr. Mohammed Mafaz, Senior Lecturer and Managing Director, and Mr. Rinas Mohamed, Senior Lecturer and Director, were key figures in the event. On behalf of Anka Technologies, Mr. Jude Xavier, Director, signed the agreement, with Mr. Kasun Ekanayake, Mr. Abdul Mujeeb, and Mr. Aashif Ahamed also in attendance.

Under the terms of the MOU, the partnership will facilitate joint initiatives such as specialized workshops, curriculum development, and access to advanced robotics and AI labs. Students in Puttalam can look forward to hands-on experiences in coding, robot building, and AI applications, aligned with global standards.
