Abacus Mental Math – Level 5 – School of Computing

Course Overview

This program is designed to enhance your arithmetic skills through the effective use of the abacus tool, a centuries-old method renowned for its precision and ability to build cognitive abilities. Throughout this course, you will learn to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with speed and accuracy, both on the abacus and mentally.

How We Work

We use Abacus tool make students practice to perform basic mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Class Structure

Class duration is one hour per a week , And we monitor 15 mins of daily practice for all the students. This course contain 8 levels , each level takes approximately 3 months to complete. (depends on speed of the child)

Course Objectives

Develop Strong Mental Calculation Skills

Equip participants with the ability to perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) quickly and accurately, both with and without the abacus.

Course Content

Abacus Mental Math – Level 5

Addition and Subtraction of 2 digit numbers
Addition and Subtraction of 3 or more digit numbers
Multiplication: Between 2 and 1 digit numbers

Perform Rapid and Accurate Calculations

Master addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using both the physical abacus and mental arithmetic techniques.

Assessments & Evaluation

We use an online platform to evaluate child's performance.
All the class work and home work will be conducted via the online learning environments.
All student work will be be evaluated in real time.
Levels are completed when the student completed all the exercises relevant to each level

Learning Process

Tutor will assist you to get registered to the system, and student will receive user name and
password via an email.
All the class work and homework will be covered through the student account.

Monitor Student Work

End of they day system automatically generate the child’s performance report for review.
Parents also receive an online account to keep track on the child’s progress

Certificate Awarding

Upon completing each level students will be awarded with a level completed certificate. Students will receive both soft copy and hard copy of the certificate. Moreover, if the child practice at least 25 days in a month they will receive the LITTLE WARRIOR CERTIFICATE to appreciate their effort and to motivate them.

Eligibility

Kids in the ages of 5-12 can be enrolled to the abacus course

Vacation / Holiday

Class sessions will not be held on Poya days, Public Holidays, and Mercantile Holidays. If a class is cancelled by the institute, children will be informed in advance. Similarly, parents are requested to notify the institute beforehand if their child will not be attending a session.
